One Room Challenge - Week 4

The dreaded undertones.

October 30, 2020

Week 4?! I am not ready! In case you missed it you can find the previous 3 weeks here: Week 1, Week 2, Week 3.

It has been a VERY slow week and we haven't made a whole lot of progress. There have been some behind the scenes things going on that I can't quite share but other than that it has been painfully slow! We are still waiting on the tile which hopefully will come soon because the tile guy is supposed to start on Monday and he can't start if he doesn't have any tile. Good thing they just announced that they are giving us even more additional days because I am probably going to be using them!

The good news is that the marble is in production! We finalized the template and layout so they are going to begin the fabrication. I cannot wait until it gets installed because it really is going to be a showstopper.

I still haven't fully decided on a paint color so I went to Benjamin Moore and got four more white paint samples. I have been dead set against painting the bathroom white since day one because I truly wanted a dark and moody bath but I want the marble to be the star of the show so I really think white will be the winner... It's just a matter of which shade. I'd really like to find a creamy white that has red undertones to hopefully pull out the pink in the marble. However that, my friends, is easier said than done. BUT I think I may have found a winner with Benjamin Moore's Pink Opulence. It really checks all of the boxes because it reads white but in the right light you can see a faint pink. But even with that in mind, I am still trying to convince myself that white is the way to go so stay tuned because who knows what will happen this week. I also want to be clear: It's not that the pink and the gray Roman Clay won't look good because they absolutely will. It's just been the fact that I never envisioned a pink or a gray bathroom (or any room for that matter) in my home and I have to live with this so I want to make sure I stay true to the ultimate vision I have for my home.
